"The Underground Railroad"

Introduction
Students have read about the abolitionist movement and the formation of the Underground Railroad. In this lesson, students will learn more about the underground network that helped thousands of slaves gain freedom.

Lesson Description
Students will view an Underground Railroad map and read a brief report about one of the many Northerners who participated in the Underground Railroad. They will then answer questions based on the map and the reading.

Instructional Objectives
1. Students will be able to interpret a map pertaining to the Underground Railroad.
2. Students will learn about one of the many abolitionists who participated in the Underground Railroad.
