"The Wheels to the West"

Introduction
     In this chapter, you learned that settlers headed west in the hopes of buying land, finding gold, and making their fortunes. Daniel Boone led a group of adventurers who cleared the main road west through the Appalachians. Thousands of families took the Wilderness Road and the Overland Trail in wagons. Go onto the Internet to learn more about the wagons and stagecoaches they used on their journeys.

  • Click on the Concord Coach page.
  • Click All About the Concord Coach.
  • Read the paragraphs about the Concord Coach.
